Nicaragua 2: May 22 – 29, 2011
Dear Future World-Changer,
Last year, over 1,800 people were impacted by a team of individuals from all walks of life that travelled to Nicaragua on our first Journey of Discovery in August.
Our plan is to make an equal and even greater impact this year on the second Journey of Discovery on May 22 to 29th.
We hope you consider joining us on an adventure and an opportunity to discover your purpose and passions in profoundly new ways.
We understand that this is a sacrifice of time and money. But if you consider the privileged lives we live in contrast to the poverty in developing countries, we believe it is a sacrifice that will make a lifetime of a difference.
In other words, it’s never easy—but it’s absolutely worth it!
Last year we:
- Fed over 700 children in 3 feeding centres.
- Fed and worked with over 1,000 prisoners for rehabilitation.
- Helped construct a medical clinic.
- Gave over 100 children care packages.
- Assisted in harvesting an agriculture project.
- Reached out to 30 sex-trade workers and provided care packages.
- Investigated micro-finance and social business opportunities.
- Provided a much needed mini-vacation for leadership of the local social organizations.
This year we plan to do more. By adding key corporate sponsorships and other strategic partners our plans are continually expanding with a focus on long-term sustainability.
But what’s most important to us is that almost everybody who went last year came back a different person in one way or another. When one comes face-to-face with poverty and injustice, change cannot be avoided.
Perspectives change. Priorities change. Passions change.
We ask you to please carefully consider joining us this May. The cost is $795 for ground costs not including airfare. We are projecting airfare to be roughly $1,000. Although that may sound like a lot of money, we believe that all necessary finances are abundant when our hearts are truly set on making a difference. And if you cannot go, you can still get involved by supporting us either financially or other valuable resources. Everything is valued and appreciated.
